With the first month of the New Year wrapping up, we here at
The Fashion Foundation leave January
with the same feelings we had upon entering: we are still ambitious, still highly motivated, and still extraordinarily grateful of our accomplished feats with hopes of greater things to come.
We reach our arms towards new goals sitting out on the horizon, and
with the help of our supporters, family, friends, and partners, we keep our
backs braced upright, our feet planted firmly in the ground, ready to embrace upcoming challenges. Our mission is simple:
To provide school supplies to students in need.
If you are a longtime supporter of The Foundation, or you are just stumbling upon us for the first
time, you’ll notice that we repeat
this mission statement in mostly everything we do. It is rewritten and tag-lined
into almost every blog post, mentioned in interviews, and proudly spoken by
each volunteer. We repeat it because we believe in the integrity of the
statement. We have seen first-hand the positive consequences that results from giving back to the ones who need it the most. The visual below exemplifies our impact thus far--we are nowhere near done:
This is just the beginning of a long journey. To
kick off this year, The Foundation has
been featured on 102.7’s CBS Radio morning show with host Deb Gordon. On January 5th 2015, The Foundation set up a
pop-up shop at the lovely “Pranna” in NYC, and just eleven days later, hosted
a school supply donation for IS-73 middle school in Queens, NY, donating more
than $1,000 in school supplies!
We are only in our first month of the New Year and already
it’s been eventful and rewarding for The
Foundation. There will be new site updates, new school partnerships, and
many more posts to this new blog spot, so be sure to stay tuned! Oh, and don’t
forget—donate, donate, donate! The
Foundation is growing and we want to thank the people who
contribute to its evolution day in and day out. To the supporters, volunteers, family
members, friends, and partners who continue to believe in our mission, we thank
you. And now, it's on to February...
