Pop-Up the Shop, and Pop Open the Cork: The Fashion Foundation Welcomes 2015
If I could paint you a picture of an
extravagant New York City atmosphere, coupled with fashion, drink, and a
ringing in of the New Year, my artistic portrayal would be unable to capture
the importance of what it means to usher in a new year. So instead, I’ll have
you picture this: on the night of January 5th 2015, with the
lingering aura of New Year’s Eve champagne still in the building, and traces of
fresh, young resolutions rolling off of the tongues of nearby residents, The Fashion Foundation had readied itself
for a night where style and philanthropy would permeate the halls of the lovely
restaurant lounge of “Pranna” located in NYC. With the help of generous
volunteers, and the partnership with jewelry designer Jacqueline Rose, The Foundation managed to raise over
$300.00 through their pop-up shop, further validating it’s presence as a
not-for-profit that is here to make an impact for years to come.
Individuals of varying backgrounds
and interests, gathered under one roof and became a part of the mission so
deeply embedded in The Foundation’s DNA,
that is: “to provide school supplies to students in need.” If you are a
follower of The Foundation, or just
discovering what it’s all about, you’ll notice that, although 2014 is now in
the rear view, the impact created by The Foundation
is certainly not. Thousands of supplies have been donated to partnering
schools in the Harlem area of New York, and now, the money raised through this
event will go towards The Foundation’s 4th
and 5th partnerships, including a donation scheduled January 16th
for I.S. 73. 2015 is guaranteed to be even more opportunistic; in case you
missed it, on January 4th, CBS Radio aired an interview with founder
Amanda Munz, in which she talked about The
Foundation and its aspirations for the upcoming year and beyond. With a
future so bright, we raise our glasses to The
Fashion Foundation, its wonderful partners, and good-hearted supporters;
may the New Year be filled with significant moments worth the picture.
