Success on the Runway: A Recap of Cold Spring Harbor High’s Fashion Event

Another successful night for the Fashion Foundation as friends, family members, teachers and students of Cold Spring Harbor High School poured into the auditorium on Friday, April 24th to attend CSH’s spring fashion show event!

Founder Amanda, board representatives Rob and Stephanie, and volunteer Steven were among the proud representatives in attendance for The Foundation, as students of CSH High School spent the night modeling their impressive self-made clothing items.

The efforts of Ms. Whitney’s fashion students were so strong that they were able to donate a portion of their sales to The Fashion Foundation, which totaled to the amount of $1,200! In addition, people who paid $10 a ticket to watch the event ($5 if they donated clothing to The Foundation upon entering) also wound up giving 2 big boxes of clothing donations that will be put to sale on The Foundation’s website.

Amanda and Stephanie had set up a table in the lobby outside the auditorium to kick off the event by giving information about The Foundation. The night proceeded as followed:

  • First, a fashion show where students modeled their self-made clothing on stage in front of the audience, followed by a movie screening of documentary films made by CSH students.
  • A brief intermission occurred shortly after, and raffles for gift giveaways were announced.
  • Then the students' fashion show continued, and more original pieces were displayed for the crowd.
  • Another movie screening was shown before a final closing where students thanked the audience and then invited our founder Amanda on stage to present her with flowers.

The students also were generous enough to invite Amanda on stage to talk about The Foundation and its mission.

“We were impressed by the work of the students and found the clothing beautiful and the videos very well created,” stated Amanda. We issue a massive thank you to Ms. Whitney and her fashion students for using their passion for fashion to contribute to The Foundation and the students whom we strive to help. Below are pictures taken from the night of the event; we are proud to recognize the students who worked so hard to make this night possible:

Once again we’d like to thank Ms. Whitney, her generous fashion students, and Cold Spring Harbor High School for inviting The Fashion Foundation to this wonderful event.
